A Ray of Color is a painting company in Fort Wayne, Indiana, run by Amanda Noel. We have been painting homes across the Greater Fort Wayne area since 2014, which by now is more than a decade of kitchens, staircases, front doors, and whole-house exteriors around this city and the towns near it.
We are deliberately small. When you hire us you are not handed off to a subcontractor you have never met. Amanda is on the estimate, and she and her team are the ones in your house. One customer called us "this boutique company," and that is a fair description of how we work: fewer jobs at a time, done properly, with the person who quoted the work also standing in the room while it happens.
The things our customers write about most are not really about paint. They are about communication, colour advice, and clean-up: explaining what a job actually takes before it starts, helping choose a colour instead of leaving you with four samples on a wall, and leaving the house liveable at the end of every single day. Are estimates free? +
Yes, always, and they are done in person. We come out, look at the actual space, and give you a real price and a real day count. Call (260) 229-6818.
What does a paint job cost? +
It depends on the square footage, the ceiling height, how much trim and how many doors and windows there are, how much patching the walls need, and how many coats the colour change requires. Going dark to light takes more coats than light to dark. That is why we quote in person rather than over the phone.
What paint do you use? +
Sherwin-Williams products, and we match the sheen to the room rather than using one finish everywhere. Bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and ceilings all take different wear.
Will you help me choose colours? +
Yes. Colour advice is part of the estimate, not an extra. Amanda has been picking colours with Fort Wayne homeowners since 2014 and will give you a real opinion based on your light and your floors.
Do you protect the house while you work? +
Floors get covered, furniture is moved and wrapped, and switch plates come off instead of getting painted around. The site is cleaned up at the end of every day, not just at the end of the job.
Do you do exterior work in winter? +
Exteriors are scheduled around temperature and dew point, not the calendar. When the cure window has closed for the year we will tell you and book you for spring rather than put on a coat that will fail.
How far do you travel? +
